LETS HAVE A CATCH UP

in , , by Anonymous, August 23, 2020

Hello!

Long time no speak.

Happy Sunday! How are we all?

I thought we could have a catch up, because I have definitely been MIA and neglected my blog for a few weeks. So I want to give you all an update of whats been going on.

Are you ready for a ramble?

Since coming home from Will's after lockdown (when it was safe to do so of course), I found everything super overwhelming, and I'm sure I speak for a few people when saying that. Obviously the nightmare that is going on in the world, (even though we are trying to get back to normal) is testing us all, but it's important to try and get back into the swing of things.

It took me a few weeks after coming home to get back into the rhythm of things, as of course it was totally normal to feel anxious about going back to work - which I definitely did feel.

I am back working at the pub now a few days a week, which really helps structure my week for other things - shooting with @emilyclareskinner (which is my favourite thing to do), uni work, portfolio work and my new upcoming photography business. - @thevisualstudio_

As a social bird, going back to work socialising with all the regulars (with guidelines in place), is SO nice after being stuck inside for all those lockdown weeks.

I have also been putting a lot of work into instagram. If you are a viewer of my grid, then you will have seen some new locations, new work and experimental things that I hadn't of done before. If you aren't a viewer, then my instagram is @georgia_ellenx and I would love for you to check out my account!

From starting my blog in lockdown to now, my work has really developed and got more creative. Emily and I have been going shooting every 2 ish weeks which has been SO lush and we have created some amazing content together.

The first shoot was in the streets of Plymouth, as it was my first location shoot, I wasn't as organised as I could have been, but we still got some amazing shots. It was interesting to see what places were good or not - so we could shoot there again. You would have already seen some shots from this shoot on the grid too!

Our second shoot was at the beach, and yes it was actually thundering before we went so we weren't sure how well that was going to pan out. Turns out the sun was on our side, the rain went and it was BOILING. I actually did my first reel this week of the BTS from the beach shoot - so definitely check that out. We also are shooting again this week somewhere else, and I am very much enjoying adding location pics to the grid.

Uni work - As well as my blog, uni work has also been neglected these past few weeks! Going into third year means lots of prep, which I need to crack on and do. Instead, I have been creating portfolio work for my new photography adventure - @thevisualstudio_, which will be part of my uni FMP and then continue after.  I'll leave a link at the end to my portfolio. (Emily is featured)

Overall, the past few weeks have been so busy and have flown by, but having a week of working - pub, instagram, blog and photography, then having a break on the weekend its is so nice. It makes me feel very productive, and that I'm actually allowed a break on the weekend.

If you made it this far - I hope you've all had a good August so far, and enjoy whats left of it.

This week is a busy one, and then I'm travelling up to Will's and going away with our friends to a lodge which I am SO excited for. Especially as all plans this year had been cancelled, so it will be nice to get away for a bit.

Let me know what you've all been up to.

Have a lovely week. Speak to you all soon.

Gee x
